Woodside Park Summer Fayre – A Wonderful Day of Community Spirit

What a fantastic day we had at the Woodside Park Summer Fayre on Sunday 1st June! Held at the Sports Club, the event welcomed around 300 residents of all ages – from toddlers trying their hand at circus tricks to long-standing neighbours catching up over burgers and sunshine.

The weather couldn’t have been better, and the turnout reflected what makes this community so special: people showing up, supporting each other, and sharing good times together. A huge thank you to everyone who came!

We were delighted to welcome Councillors Alison Cornelius, Richard Cornelius and Caroline Stock, who spent time chatting with residents and enjoying the atmosphere.

A big shoutout to our Social Secretary Maria’s family, who heroically ran the burger stand and sold over 200 delicious burgers – a major hit of the day!

The circus skills entertainer was also a constant draw, with a steady stream of enthusiastic learners mastering plate-spinning and other tricks.

We said a fond and emotional farewell to IBie, our local postman, with a presentation marking his retirement after decades of cheerful service to the neighbourhood.

We’re incredibly grateful to our local Sussex Ring businesses who supported the event – Philippe Conticini, who sponsored the circus skills entertainer and treated us to some excellent croissants, as well as Indulgence Hair & Beauty, Nisa Local and Vero Caffè for their generous donations.

A special mention to Sophia, daughter of our Committee member Gabriella, who generously donated a batch of homemade cupcakes that looked and tasted like they belonged in a professional bakery.

As we head into summer, we want to wish all our residents a happy and restful season.

📅 Mark your calendars: Our next community event will be Christmas carol singing on Friday 13th December – we hope to see many of you there.

And finally – we’re always looking for fresh ideas and helping hands! If you have suggestions for future events, or would like to volunteer or join the Committee, please get in touch at hello@woodside-park.com.

Here’s to more great moments together – and thank you for making the Summer Fayre such a success!
