A Path To Darlands…
With the parks, the golf course and Darlands Nature Reserve surrounding us, we’re lucky to be as close to London as we are, yet surrounded by nature.
You will have noticed that over the last few years the path network in the Nature Reserve has been significantly improved, which is allowing access for much more of the year, with much less mud involved!
One area that is missing though is between the ‘kissing gates’ in the path as you go towards Darlands from the Woodside Park Sports club, behind Michleham Down - those that use it regularly will know this part as the boggiest of the entire park from about November to April!
We want to change this and get a permanent path laid, similar to the rest of the Reserve - but we need your help:
The route that this path needs to be built on is actually private, but we can turn that ‘route’ to a “right of way”, if we get enough people to attest to having used it regularly…
There’s a bit of criteria:
You have to have used it for 20 years or more
You will need to fill in a form attesting to having done so without obstruction (somebody telling you that you can’t)
We want to make this as easy as possible to happen. So if you qualify on the above and are willing to fill in a form, please get in touch using the link below, or putting a message on your street WhatsApp chat that you would like to help and we will pop round with a form and help you go through it.
Thank you
Here’s to making Darlands accessible year round - without having to hose down yourself and the dog all winter!
